What is GLF? Since 1998, Microsoft Corporation has hosted the Government Leader's Forum, which brings together the highest level of Government officials, thought leaders and Microsoft executives. This Forum is for high level government officials wishing to explore initiatives to improve competitiveness, progress towards social equality or strengthen democracy. The Forum will have the presence of an eminent group of speakers and panelists who will present best practices and case studies.
What are this year's GLF topics? The Forum will focus on the theme "Driving Impact Today for a Brighter Future" with a special concentration on areas of interest to policymakers and government elites across the region, including topics such as National Competitiveness, Social Development, Economic Growth and Education.
Where and when it is? All GLF sessions will be held at the Copacabana Palace, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 9 - 10 April 2013.
Who can attend the Forum? This event is an invite only event.
What language will the Forum be presented in? Speakers will present in their native language. Simultaneous translations will be available in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
How do I book a hotel room? Housing accommodations are available during the registration process.
Do I need to pay a fee to attend the event? Microsoft is committed to serving its customers and partners with integrity and in compliance with all applicable legal requirements and policies. Therefore, we would like to inform you that we will be incurring expenses for attendees to the Government Leaders Forum estimated at US $445 for meals and snacks/beverages over the course of the two-day event. By accepting the payment by Microsoft of such hospitality, you acknowledge that acceptance of such hospitality is permitted under your agency's policies and any other applicable regulations.
